BARCINO ROMAN WALL
Barcelona was founded 2.200 years ago by Romans. In this picture we can see the Roman Wall built in the IV century AC in order to protect the “Colonia Julia Augusta Faventia Paterna Barcino”, the city inside this wall is the origin of our nowadays Barcelona.
The wall was 1.275 m. long ant had 76 towers, the round towers like the one in the picture were situated at the corners, and the rest of the towers were squared.
We have a lot of remains of the Roman Wall because during the Middle Age the citizens of Barcelona used the Roman city as a structure for the new constructions.
